Joining PAH

 

1. I am interested in painting the rental units of the elderly residents but I can't speak dialect. Will I not be chosen as a volunteer?

 

Selection of volunteers will solely be based on first come first serve regardless of your ability to speak dialect. You will still be selected to come down on 4, 5, 11, or 12 June 2016 if you sign up before the slots are filled. Indication of ability to speak dialect is to facilitate the grouping of volunteers during the actual event.


2. I can't join PAH for the whole day / I can only come in the afternoon / I need to leave much earlier. Do I still sign up?

 

You can still sign up for PAH, however, we will put you on our waiting list. We hope that volunteers can commit for the whole day from 8.30am to 6pm.


3. I don't have painting background, can I still join PAH?

 

Yes, definitely!!! =) Selection will solely be based on first come first serve regardless of your ability to paint. Do not hesitate to sign up as a volunteer.

 

Signing up for PAH as a volunteer

 

1. I cannot confirm my schedule for June, should I still sign up?

 

Yes, you can still sign up as a volunteer. We will give you a call about 2-3 weeks before the actual event to confirm your attendance for the actual event.


2. Can I be in the same group together with my friends during PAH?

 

We will try our best to group you together with your friends. When filling up the sign up form, under 'Preferred Group', choose 'others' and write down a group name or full name of ONE person in charge. Please ensure that all of you are signing up for the same date(s). Should your group be too big, we might have to split all of you into 2 or more groups.

 

General questions on PAH


1. What will we do on the actual event for this year's PAH?

 

Main programmes for rental units include basic cleaning of the rental units, painting, and chit-chatting with the elderly beneficiaries.


2. What will the money raised during the Internal Drive be used for?

 

The money raised will be channelled to the expenses for painting equipments and other related items.


3. Do I have to come down on all 4 days for PAH as a volunteer?

 

No, you will only be required to come down for ONE day for the actual event. However, please kindly indicate all your available dates for the actual event so as to facilitate our groupings of volunteers.


4. How long is the actual event?

 

It will be from 8.30am to 6pm on all 4 days. There will a lunch break in between where lunch would be provided for all volunteers.


5. How do I make my way to the event locations I'm assigned to?

 

We will meet the volunteers at the nearest MRT station exits to lead them to the respective venues. In addition, directions will be sent in an email to all volunteers nearer to the event dates.
